This is one in a series of flower vase studies I did recently. The study in form and function was to find the best height, opening dimension and surface treatment to display fresh cut flowers. The opening needed to be not to big so that the flowers were not supported and not to small so that a nice bouquet could be contained, and colors that were subdued so as not to compete with the color of the flowers, while being of sufficient interest to highlight the vase shape and surface as well. The final application of slip trailed around the vase tops it off. The colors on these vases are really outstanding. Just add your favorite fresh cut flowers or dried arrangement. 4.25” w x 8” h
